One of the larger projects I worked on at Google was to design and build an entire audiobooks product from scratch. Google already had an existing ebook product through Google Play Books, but as audio as a medium continued to take off in 2018 the strategic decision was made to add an audiobooks vertical as well.

My responsibilities for this project included owning the design of the audio player from start to finish. In addition, I worked on ways of integrating audiobooks smoothly into existing experiences, such as promotion & discovery of audiobooks within the Home feed. Many subtle but impactful information architecture adjustments were made to make audiobooks feel like a natural and intuitive addition to the Google Play Books experience.
